Chapter One: Meetings
It was a beautiful day and Lief was
walking around the Palace garden, bored. Lief came to the roses and
thought he heard some kind of noise from behind the wall surrounding the
palace.
Lief was taller than the wall so it was easy to look over and see
anything. Lief looked over the wall and saw a girl with flame red hair
down to her shoulders, with sun kissed skin in a pair of faded blue jeans
and a T-shirt that says Girls Rule sitting on the ground muttering to
herself.
"I hate," the girl had started to say something but stopped as her deep
blue eyes looked up, saw Lief and she screamed. "AAAAHHHHHH!"
The girl jumped up tried to say something but couldn't. Lief turned around
to see Jasmine and Sharn running toward him.
"Lief," said Jasmine." We were walking by the door discussing." She looked
up and saw the girl.
"Who are you?" asked Sharn.
"C. Carmen." The girl stuttered out.
"Why are you here?" asked Sharn.
"Lost." Carmen said.
"You were about to say something," said Lief.
"What?"
"I hate Damon," said Carmen "His friend chased me all the way here, and
then just ran away. Now I'm lost."
"Who is Damon?" questioned Sharn
"He is the criminal mastermind that destroyed my family's magic and has
some sort of vendetta against us"
"Why is that?" asked Sharn.
"We have absolutely no idea, other than the fact that he is an evil
person," replied Carmen.
"Where do you live?" asked Jasmine.
Carmen stared. Finally, she said, "Claudia would get mad at me if I told
anyone."
"Who is Claudia?" questioned Jasmine.
"She's my older sister, she's a little..."
Suddenly a black bird swooped down and landed on the wall.
"It is not Kree," said Jasmine.
"Lisha!" cried Carmen excitedly. Suddenly, the black bird turned into a
girl with shoulder length curly black hair and shiny brown eyes, wearing a
scarlet red robe.
"Please tell me Claudia didn't send you." Carmen said.
"No, but I still have bad news about, well, you know."
"What?" Carmen said frowning. "Guess who's looking for you?"
Suddenly a girl about 9 or 10 years old stepped out from behind a tree.
"Not you!" said Carmen, almost horrified. "Yeah," said the girl "It's me!"
Suddenly the two started bickering about something, but they were talking
so fast it was hard to understand what they were saying. And they were
always bickering about something.
"Kena," Lisha announced "Carmen's mortal enemy that she must live with."
Lisha looked at the two arguing girls "Stop bickering! Claudia asked us to
do something."
"What is it?" asked Carmen. "Trouble in Ri. Ri. I know it started with an
R!"
"Rithmere" said a voice by the gate "Mika, at your service!"
"MIKA!" exclaimed Carmen. "The one and only!" laughed Mika.
"Rithmere?" asked Lief "We have been there. Perhaps we could help."
"Hate to take your time." responded Lisha.
"We wouldn't mind," assured Lief.
"Well, if you want to," said Carmen.
"Melissa and Carley are waiting for us there by the way," said Mika.
"Alright. We'd better go soon," stated Lisha
"Claudia wants us home soon," Carmen finished for her. "I'll go get our
friend Barda," announced Lief as he retreated to find Barda.
"I'll alert The Palace," said Sharn and she left too.
While waiting the four became good friends with Jasmine. "So, your Lief's
girlfriend?" asked Carmen.
"Yes." Answered Jasmine.
"You are coming with us, aren't you?" assumed Carmen.
"Of course," replied Jasmine.
"What can you tell me about this Damon character?" she asked.
"I hate him, he killed my parents, I hate him, he's trying to kill me and
the rest of my family, did I mention I hate him? And he has cast an evil
spell that has intercepted our magical abilities and has cast an illegal
spell to make himself immortal, and oh, yeah did I mention I really,
really hate him?"
"So I'm thinking maybe you don't like this man," mused Jasmine.
"Why, whatever gave you that idea?" laughed Carmen. At that moment Lief
returned with Barda and they all set out on their journey to Rithmere.
